This week on KnokX Knowledge Radio, we welcome Savio Vega! Getting his start in the late ‘80s in his native Puerto Rico, he first achieved success under the name “TNT.” He captivated audiences in his homeland by utilizing his unique combination of martial arts and wrestling skills to attain the upper hand in bloody feuds against legends such as Carlos Colon and Abdullah The Butcher. His early success would gain him notice from promotions in Japan, where he teamed alongside his old rival Abdullah The Butcher and dominated teams in that country. Success and notoriety would continue to follow him as he entered WWE in the mid-‘90s. Making an impact fighting alongside Razor Ramon (Scott Hall), Savio Vega soon found himself in the finals of the prestigious King of the Ring tournament. In the years that followed in WWE, Savio Vega stood toe-to-toe in feuds with such foes as Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, and Jeff Jarrett. He later became a member of the original Nation of Domination alongside Ron Simmons and Crush, and formed the Puerto Rican stable of wrestlers known as Los Boricuas. After leaving WWE, Savio Vega returned to Puerto Rico and became one of the most influential wrestlers in his homeland, both in the ring and behind the scenes. He also has worked behind the scenes in TNA and in the Indian promotion Ring Ka King. To this day, he continues to entertain crowds and train wrestlers worldwide.
