My guest today is Cheryl Schiltz is a Leadership Wisconsin Group 15 Fellow (www.leadershipwiconsin.org). By way of her fellowship she has explored several various leadership examples dealing with cutting edge issues such as State and Local Government of Wisconsin, National Government in Washington DC which focused on health care to Regional issues in Florida studying the many aspects of tomato production from genetics to immigration. Other areas of study focused on Global Economics, Environmental issues, and many more. Cheryl's latest experience took her to Tanzania, Africa where she and her other fellows explored the history, purpose, role and effectiveness of international development programs in Tanzania. There her group examined things such and US government programs, non-governmental organization (NGOs), faith-based organizations and the private sector and how each of these contribute to the long-term development of the country. While in Tanzania Cheryl and her other fellows explores critical social, economic and environmental issues such as food security, agricultural development, natural resources, preservation, youth, health care and education. Cheryl took part in ground breaking sensory substitution research at the University of Wisconsin-Madison pioneered by world-renowned and esteemed doctor and scientist, . She has been featured in several publications, radio, and television reports such as The New York Times, The Washington Post, Discover Magazine, New Scientist Magazine, National Geographic, PBS, On Wisconsin. Her story has been featured in two books, ?Balance – In Search of the Lost Sense? by Scott McCredie and the best-selling book, ?The Brain that Changes Itself? by Dr. Norman Doidge.
