She is running for Superintendent of Public Instruction in Arizona because, as she puts it, "it is time to put an educator back in charge of education in Arizona!" Ms. Thomas is a sixth-generation Arizonan. She has taught for ten years, from the kindergarten level up to college. She is a single mother of two. She has been active in the community as a political leader and activist for over two decades. She is a current teacher in high school & she writes curriculum and trains teachers.
