Sheila Marie Johnson-Glover, a Cleveland native currently residing in Swansea IL ia a four year Breast Cancer survivor. She has a daughter, Janaia Marie Glover and a seven year old Rottiweiler named Gracie who she calls her best friend. Sheila joined the United States Air Force in July 1985 and later did 25 years in the military. She's been retired since 2010. In December of 2009, Sheila was diagnosed with Stage 4 HER-2 Breast Cancer Estrogen Positive. She's undergone chemo, a right bilateral mastectomy, and reconstructive surgery. Additionally she's had her ovaries removed. Sheila's current maintenance treatment plan is Herceptin and Flaxodex (hormonal growth therapy). This what keeps her Cancer at bay and the medicine seems to be doing its job. Sheila currently volunteers in many areas including Living Beyond Breast Cancer and was recently trained to be on their helpline. She's also a Young Advocate for LBBC. Sheila is a volunteer for Big Brothers Big Sisters and has one little sister who is nine years old. She's also a mentor for the 4th Angel Mentoring Project founded by Scott Hamilton. She currently mentors two young ladies along their Breast Cancer journey. Sheila is in the process of forming her own non-profit to help other Breast Cancer survivors with short term financial assistance. It is called SWAGG (Survivor With a Good God) and she's garnered major support from numerous avenues. Sheila says "We are all Survivors because we all have to go through a trial or tribulation in life, not just Breast Cancer.
