I grew up on a homestead and lived in this area of WNC for 26 years-so for me I am going home to what I know best! We will be really close to the Cherokee reservation and I plan to learn the language and have already met some LOVELY folks there happy to share -we all love to make hand crafts... and spend time in the woods and such - I am 1/4 Cherokee so look forward to learning! We have a place now on 6 acres -behind us is the National Forest-we are 20 miles out of the nearest town -straight up a narrow, twisty gravel road - we are on a road off a main road-the then again off of that - which is what we were looking for. We prayed hard,worked hard and never stopped till we had the place we wanted-my husband and I feel very strongly it is TIME to get outta the city!!
